Emmanuel Mutai wins the London Marathon!
Well Kibii didn’t win the marathon but a fellow African did; Emmanuel Mutai from Kenya came powering through after a quick two hours, four minutes and 40 seconds. Here he is sprinting past at the 25 mile point.
Unfortunately we missed his fellow compatriot Mary Keitany who won the Women’s title at 2:19:19, but the day was filled with amazing atmosphere, wonderful costumes, sweat, tumbles and cheers!
But back to the man himself, Kibii finished his marathon in 04:15:56. He was slightly disappointed after running the Jinja marathon in 3 hours 30 minutes but he struggled with running on the hard concrete. Nevertheless he thought the atmosphere was amazing and enjoyed a birthday party after the race, Kibii turns 41 on Tuesday! Most importantly nearly £5000 was raised for the entire refurbishment of Lubani AS Primary School in Jinja, Uganda. www.justgiving.com/kibiilondonmarathon/
